Community Health Officer

Community Health Officer, CHO, is an important primary health care level position focused on providing basic and comprehensive health services at the community level

A CHO usually works at a Health and Wellness Centre and supports people through screening, counseling, follow up, basic treatment support, health education and timely referral

The role of a CHO is not limited to patient treatment only, it also includes village health planning, home visits, disease surveillance, high risk case identification, NCD screening, health awareness and community based follow up
